It’s been some time since I did a product review so I thought I will review this cleanser I have been using for a while now. I’m hearing the squirt noises the bottle makes when you almost run out of the product so I think it’s fair to say that I can give you a complete and honest review on the Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel. So keep reading if you are interested in finding out more.
MARIO BADESCU ENZYME CLEANSING GEL
RRP: $19 for 236ml
Very reasonably priced
Lasts a very long time – I have been using this for almost 6 months every single day and am just running out (I only cleanse at night)
Contains some natural alpha-hydroxy acids – found in Papaya and Grapefruit – which gently exfoliate the build of dead skin cells that can block pores and cause blemishes
Lightweight, natural smelling scent, light-weight, non-foaming, easily spreadable and washable
Suitable for all skin types
Doesn’t dry out your skin
Doesn’t cleanse very efficiently to the point where all your makeup is off – So you either need to do a double cleanse or work the product into your skin really well
Always need to follow with a toner to completely remover makeup (which you should be doing anyway) but defeats the sole purpose of the cleanser
Very harsh on the eyes – it really hurts if you get it into your eyes so need to keep eyes well closed while cleansing
Would I re-purchase?
Yes. I know I mentioned that it doesn’t completely take off every inch of makeup but all the positives does it for me about this product. Yes, it probably isn’t ever going to be my all-time favourite cleanser but its cheap, lasts a longgggggg time and most importantly doesn’t dry out my skin or break me out. Plus, I always tone after cleansing and this step does remove all the remaining makeup. My skin has been behaving very well lately so I haven’t found the need to replace my cleanser or any other items in my regular skin care regimen. I do believe that because I am also breastfeeding my hormonal levels have been quite balanced. This definitely minimises the potential for blemishes that you would normally experience at the time of the month. I would recommend this product for people who have dry skin and are finding that their current products are drying them out even more and for those that want a well priced cleanser that doesn’t break them out.
You can also do a skin care analysis on the Mario Badescu webpage where they will guide you in choosing which skin care products are best suited for your skin type and current concerns (here). This is how I first found out about this product.
I hope you enjoyed another product review. Let me know if you have used this product and what your thoughts are or what your all time favourite cleanser is.
Love to all
