Base is everything! That is all. If you’ve been following me for a while you would already know that I am big on ‘the foundation’..and when I say foundation I mean what’s beneath the makeup – YOUR SKIN! No matter how good a product is, it will only look as good as your skin does. So taking care of your skin will give you a beautiful canvas to work on and allow you to layer your beauty products. This is probably why I choose not to wear foundation on a daily basis. I don’t mind going for a light coverage on most days and exposing my skin. So whether you’re like me, and you don’t like a heavy look, or you just want to go lighter on some days, keep reading. Today, I will share my current 3 favourites for a beautiful light coverage.
1. NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser SPF 30 ($66)
A tinted moisturiser that covers so well you will almost think you’re wearing foundation. Great coverage, contains SPF, spreads smoothly and evenly, feels velvety on the skin and lasts all day. On days where I want a bit more coverage I just add some concealer in areas of need and seal it all in with a pressed powder. You can also use a translucent powder if you don’t want extra coverage.
2. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20 ($65)
So so hydrating, looks incredibly natural and contains SPF. The coverage with this is lighter compared to the NARS but it provides a beautiful finish. So basically you look like you but better! The great thing about Laura Mercier is that they have a very wide colour range so you can almost always find a product that matches your skin very closely. Also it is very easy to apply – I use a beauty blender but you can just warm up your fingers and easily spread it out. I find that this product lasts longer when you set it with a powder (I am dying to try the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder) and/or setting spray.
3. Estee Lauder Double Wear Light SPF 10 ($54)
I’m sure many of us have tried the Estee Lauder Double Wear – the absolute holy grail of matte foundation at the best price point – you just can’t beat it. The problem with it is, it can be a little heavy on the skin and a little drying too. So this is a perfect alternative. The Estee Lauder light is still such great coverage, contains SPF, lasts literally all day and is not as drying. However, this is considered a foundation compared to the above two I mentioned which are tinted moisturisers. So if you prefer a medium coverage this is probably you’re best bet.
Hope you enjoyed this post beautiful people!
